BEHIND THE CAMERA.
hey there! I'm Brooke, the girl behind the camera! I'm a California girl, born and raised. i'm 19 years old and studying marketing and entrepreneurship at university. I've been riding for about 4 years now but have been obsessed with horses for as long as I can remember. I ride recreationally for now but have hopes of one day competing in dressage, eventing or hunter jumper. I currently reside in Fallbrook, ca with my family, 2 horses, 2 mini donkeys, our dog, Bentley, and 4 cats.
my equestrian photography exploration started when I attended a grand prix in del mar, ca and fell in love with capturing the beauty and power of these amazing animals. ever since then, I've been frequenting horse shows throughout Southern California. I've now been photographing horses for 4 years and haven't stopped. I got into portraiture when I had to sell my first horse, yogi, and I was devastated I didn't get any pictures taken of us besides me riding him, so I decided to give my fellow equestrians the gift of photographs to remember a story. the story between a girl and her horse.
We moved to Fallbrook, CA in 2017 and quickly began adding equestrian amenities to our property to prepare for our horses. Our first horse was an Anglo-Arab named Bryce whom we rescued and re-homed with a wonderful girl in Temecula. After an entire summer of searching for 2 more horses, we came across Yogi, a QH gelding, and Moose, an OTTB. We had them for just over a year before rehoming Moose to his true soulmate in Imperial Beach and giving Yogi the job he really wanted on a ranch in Northern California. Now, finally, in 2019, we have decided to put rescuing and rehoming to the side while we enjoy our own horses.
In November, we decided to adopt two mini donkeys. mother and daughter, who's names are Dolly and Coco. They greet us in the morning with their hee-haws and eagerness. Shortly after, we purchased a retired lesson horse named Indi. She has since become my heart horse and does whatever is asked of her. She has a heart of gold.
